Marat Karpeka Lemur Fund Mahazava Nursery
Today we want to share with you the great news about the completion of the construction of a new nursery, as well as how the construction took place and what role it plays. 🙌🌳🐒

Madagascar Biodiversity Partnership received permission to plant a forest corridor and immediately began construction of a new nursery in collaboration with our foundation. Marat Karpeka Lemur Fund Mahazava Nursery is located near Vatovavy Mountain in Kianjavato.

This nursery will allow residents to plant about 100.000 trees a year. 🌳🌳🌳
At the end of March, the nursery had already been partially built. The goal is to plant in SMART pots only.

Why do we want to plant in SMART pots?

✅ acceleration of tree growth.

✅ temperature control and aeration of the mail.

✅ even distribution of moisture

✅ reusable materials

Thus, by using them, we achieve a greater effect of reforestation🏔️🌳

Vatovavy mountain has an iconic forest. It is important not only to conserve this forest, but to increase its size.

On April 26, in honor of Arbor Day, the first trees from the new nursery were planted.
🎊In June, the construction of the nursery had been completed and members of our foundation visited Madagascar.

On June 21, 500 endemic trees were planted with help of local residents.🌱🌱🌱

❤️Thanks to everyone for your support, it is very valuable!

Now our task is to plant as many trees as possible and restore the habitats of the aye-aye, greater bamboo and other species of lemurs that live in this region. 🌳🐒🌳

💵Your donations are important to continuous planting efforts in Vatovavy mountain.
